MITA stands for Mental Illness Treatment in Assam. Mental illness is one of the biggest problem of our human body, if a person is unable to control his brain they can never be socialize, they lost their control power. Therefore the treatment of human mind is important. To observe the problem of mental illness the ant has started their MITA program to provide low cost treatment for all people in Assam and engaged various stakeholders like NGO’s.
The year 2020-21 has been full of vulnerabilities. The Covid 19 pandemic and the resulting economic recession have negatively affected many people mental health and created barriers for people already suffering from mental illness and substance abuse research from prior economic downturns shows that job loss is associated with increased depression anxiety distend and low self esteem and may lead to higher rates of substance abuse .
During the covid -19 pandemic concern about mental health and substance use have grown including concern about suicidal ideation . There are a variety of ways the pandemic has likely affected mental health particularly with widespread social isolation resulting from necessary Safely measures. More than 450 million people suffer from mental disorders physical health and mental health are closely associated and it is proved beyond doubt that depression leads to heart and vascular diseases. Stigma is associated with mental illness and patients are discriminated in the society in all aspects like education employment marriage etc. Which leads to delay in seeking medical advice.
